Trimming Corners--How To

Hello,

I have CC3 and created a dungeon. I want to connect the corners together from the various walls I did so that when I do a multi-poly it won't bleed out. I cannot find a trim corner function. What are the steps I'm missing?

Thanks!

I usually combine the walls into one path using Combine Path (CMB). You can find the command by righ-clicking the explode button. Since there are technically two nodes at the corner after joining (Which sometimes can cause visual glitches), you may also need to use delete node to remove one of them
  • I used the trim to extend and that helped a little bit, but I still had some issues when using multi-poly. The CMB and deleting nodes didn't work for me. It still ended up bleeding all over the place.
  • It depends on the usage, but one way to avoid this problem is to never end a poly on a corner (at least not if you intend to make it a multipoly). I think I remember the problem being related to the way FastCad calculates end points or something like that. Try connecting the poly on a straight line and see if that solves the problem. If your poly is already created, you can always edit the nodes to move the end point to something other than a corner.
