CC3/CD3 and Symbol set 3

Hi all,

I have a copy of CC3 and CD3, and am mostly interested in modern or near-future mapping.

Symbol set 3 looks like it might be what I need, but it looks like it is mostly intended to be used with CC2-Pro. Is this the case? Are the extra tools useful using CC3? Is there any duplication with the symbols, etc from CD3?

I have symbol set 3 installed and used with CC3.

SS3 is still the older (CC2 Pro) vector format, but works under CC3 too. It's templates and drawing tools are fully workable in CC3, and there's no duplication with City Designer 3.

Is installation on CC3 easy if it was designed for CC2 Pro?

Yes. There is a compatibility update installer that you use to install it into CC3. Note that you use the compatibility update INSTEAD of the old installer, not in addition to it, so you don't need to download the original CC2 installer at all. The compatibility update is available from your registration page once you have registered the serial you get when you buy the product.

Cool, thanks,

I have taken the plunge and installed SS3, but seem to be having some issues with some of the textures,

The symbols seem to be fine (except for the up/down catagory, which seems to revert back to showing coastal symbols?) but some of the symbols in the sidebar (Modern Floor-plan tools) seem to have no texture (instead being solid black, or in some cases brown)?

Any ideas?

Those are vari-color. Try a lighter color, and you will see detail.
