CC3 Overland uses vector map symbols , the other uses PNG raster artwork developed for CC3. If you look in the Examples/Maps folder, Island of Muirgh.fcw is in CC3 Standard Overland style, and CC3 Overland Vector Color.fcw is in the Overland Vector style. Turn Effects On in both cases to see the difference. Vector maps refresh more quickly, and you can change and edit the symbols more easily; PNG symbols can have a greater range of colours and transparency.
If I have a piece of artwork that is in .png format - and I convert it to a .svg Vector image in Inkscape - could I theoretically use the vector version as well in CC3, as opposed to - or in addition to the .png version?
Thanks! Now, this is probably another stupid question, but if I decide I want to make two different parts of a map, one in each of these types, will I be able to merge them together and get a good result? Thanks!
