Location of Symbol Library

When I run CC3 as administrator my Symbol Library is on the left side of the window, when I log on as myself it is on the right side of the window. I like it on the left side. The Customize Toolbar menu allows me to move toolbars around the screen but it only lets me enable and disable the Symbol Library.

I have tried:

1) Uninstalling CC3 and all its addons
2) Making sure the ProFantasy directories where removed completely
3) Cleaned up registry entries left behind by the uninstaller

Does anyone know how I can get it on the left side when I don't log on as administrator?

Thanks,
Adventures Guildmaster

This is part of the registry settings for CC3. They are only set up on install, so CC3 only works properly for the user that installed it.
Note there is a multitude of other settings that haven't been set as well, so if you dig deeper, you will quickly find more problems.

I'll advice you to give the user you intend to use temporarily admin privileges, then install CC3 using that user.
CC3 also expects to be able to write to it's installation directory, so you should also install it in a location this user will have full read/write access even after admin privileges are removed again.
  • Monsen, thanks for the answer. I did notice there where lots of problems with it. I kept logging on as administrator to use it because I had installed it in the Program Files directory. I also noticed that when I pressed different symbol library it couldn't find them and brought up a dialog to find them. My thought was to install it in the ProgramData directory like other programs do to fix problems of this sort, but I still had problems such as this with it. I will try to give temporary admin privileges to my account so that I can install the program. I don't like having full admin privileges all the time because it is a safety/security issue. I am going to report this as a bug, CC3 should be able to install as an admin but allow other users to use the program. It even asks if you are installing it for the current user or all users in the installer.
  • I added my account to the administrators group and then I ran the install programs again. I used the repair option on each of the installers. I also installed it in the c:\ProgramData\ProFantasy\CC3 directory. I then removed my account from the administrators group and now it works perfectly so far.
