SOLVED: Rivers in Annual City BW Style always on top

Hi,

I have a problem with the rivers in the Annual City BW Style from the Annual Vol 4. The river always stays on top of roads or symbols. You can identify the problem in my little test map which contains two rivers, some roads, a lake and two bridges. Can anyone help me on this issue?

Thanks, Tequlyet

  • have to be sheets. In which order you have them in the sheets popup.

    top of sheet list
    lake
    bridge
    road
    bottom of sheet list

    should be in that order.

JimP is right - the usual cause of things drawing on top of other things is the sheet order.

In your "Sheets and Effects" you have 3 sheets that coould be used for Rivers:

    1) WATER/RIVERS
    2) RIVERS
    3) RIVER

Your rivers were in the RIVER sheet which is bottom of the list, so the last to draw. Move your rivers to the WATER/RIVERS sheet and you will get something like the image below.

Of course, now you have to sort out your rivers and roads going through the lake! :-)
  • Hi,

thanks for your help. I looked at the properties of the Water Stream drawing tool in the Annual City BW Style from the Annual Vol 4 and noticed that the sheet configured was RIVER* and not RIVERS*. So whenever I added the first river then the RIVER sheet was added at the bottom of the sheet list. Moving the RIVER sheet up solves the problem for my current map. But changing the configured sheet to RIVERS* solves it for all other rivers added in future. So the "configuration bug" was in the Annual City BW Style from the Annual Vol 4. Maybe this helps others in future.

    Thanks, Tequlyet
