Some questions: Handling CC3

Hi,

greetings from Germany.

I have two questions or two problems.

1. How is it possible to measure a distance in CC3. I want to draw a spaceship, with should be 820 ft long and 180 ft wide.

2. Is it possible to change the scale unit in CC3 to meters?

    CC3 is based off of a CADD program so it's measurements are absolute (meaning accurate on a 1 to 1 scale). Creating anything to a specific set of diminsions is not only easy, it's the core way the program is designed. To do it, simply start drawing a line, and the line length is displayed in the top right area. This prompt can be set to an absolute output or a relative output (meaning absolute relative to the map's origin (0,0), or relative to the last point plotted on the map. There is also a "Distance" and a "Length Along" tool that will output the length of any given measuremen desired.

    Also all of the map templates come in both standard and metric versions. It's easiest to create a map using a metric template. There is a way to convert it, but I normally work with the standard system so I am unfamiliar with the specifics of conversion from within CC3.

    The units used in the drawing can be changed via File > Drawing Properties > Units.

    If you have previously used another measurement in the map (e.g. drawing your floorplan in feet and now want to use meters), use the "Rescale" option when you change units. If you just want to change the displayed units (e.g. on your overland map you've already drawn stuff with kilometers in mind), leave the "Rescale" option unchecked.

    But now i have another question. When i create a cosmographer deckstile, there is the Modern feet bar. Is there something like that vor Meters?
