world of Kaÿde
I needed a map to game with my kids so I couldn't miss the opportunity to use Jonathan Roberts CA51 wonderfull mountain symbols
For the rest I applied a technic I used before (http://forum.profantasy.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=1366&page=1#Item_24)
i) sea over land and not the usual reverse
ii) smooth polys with solid colors blended by an inner edge fade effect. Only used a bitmap fill, also from CA51, for the marshes.
iii) packed individual symbols for the forest. Symbols are from SS1 this time. The map takes a lot of time to load after that, of course...
iv) global texture made from a noise field.
The texts use A Charming Font tkanks to Darkveil (http://forum.profantasy.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=1384).
The compass and the parchment title were made with POVRAY (3D renderer) although the flat picture for the parchment was done in CC3. I'm not quite satisfied with the look of the compass though...
The border is made of symbols first created in CC3, reworked with PhotoFiltre and Gimp, and imported again in CC3.
Any comment welcome !

I think I recall trying your river macro earlier, at least I think that's the one gradually getting wider with changing colors, but due to them consisting of quite a few parts they were somewhat harder to edit later on.
Do you have them separately from the sea, or are they all one single thing?
@Leonal : I reckon the parts of the river macro are hard to edit. They consist in bunches of fractal pathes in linear line width. For this map I used the XP version which is alas in no way easier to edit because here rivers are made of small polygons.
All those polygons are on the same sheet as the sea but separate. They are all the same color: the background color of the sea so they blend perfectly.
The nice thing with the XP is you can undo the last river in one go, whereas with the macro each next undo command only erases the latest part. Of course if you want to get rid of the river afterward, you have to select all the parts regardless of the version.
