How do you make family trees for your campaign ?

I've been thinking... no, you don't have to hide.

Working on my real family tree, I was wondering if anyone here uses CC3 or one of the free family tree programs to generate King, Queen, etc. successions for their game worlds ?

I have two royalty successions web pages on my Crestar site in plain text. I have been thinking about turning them into family tree files. Not GEDCOM, the family tree standard file, but a tree exported as a graphic, and post that to my site.

I've used a flow chart program called Dia for this for my current campaign. Well, not exactly for King and Queen, but how NPC's are connected (I have a lot of strnge connections in this campaign)

I originally used a flowchart plastic template for the denizens of Dwarf Home. I came up with various monsters owing allegience to the more powerful NPCs in that dungeon. The flowchart helped me keep track of which skeletons, etc. were placed by which NPC, and to whom the various groups were hirelings, etc. of which NPCs. easier to keep track of who the payer characters had upset the most.

I use a genealogy program called Brother's Keeper. I use the freeware edition, although there is a shareware option. A Google search should point you in the right direction. I find it to be incredibly useful because I can attach "notes" to individuals, which is helpful when trying to remember who is going to be doing what to whom.

I'll likely use CC3 to make game king, etc. trees. I have an old flowchart template i used for who is henchmen/hireling for Dwarf Home. I just need to get it uploaded to my site after drawing it.
