DD3 - Geomorphs and Grid

Hi there!

I'm having trouble lining up geomorphs in Dungeon Designer. I'm guessing it's something to do with my grid settings.

For these screenshots, I started with the 200' x 160' template.

First, I place the N-Corridor 5' Join 2 cross. (The tutorial in DD3 Essentials says to use N-Corridor 5' Join 5 cross, but I don't seem to have that, even in the expanded set.)

Then, I select the N-Corridor 5' 3 tile, and line it up with the cross.

I click - but this is odd; the rectangle outline of the corridor-to-be no longer lines up with the cross edge.

I move the mouse to the left - looks like they're not even touching.

I click, and right-click, to finalize the geomorph. Yup, no longer touching.

Again, I figure it's a grid setting issue. DD3 Essentials claims the default grid setting is designed for these geomorphs. Is that not the case? If not, what grid settings should I actually use?

    1. Make sure your symbol scale is correct. Because these snaps to the grid, the symbol scale should always be 1 (I guess any multiple of one should work as well, so any integer number should do)
    2. Make sure you use a snap grid of an appropriate size. 5' grids work best for these tiles (Or 10' grid with 2 snaps). The default grid should be ok.
    3. Make sure you don't apply any rotation (or at least use the same rotation for all the tiles). The tiles don't handle that too well (If you need to do rotation, you need to turn of snap to grid as well and place them manually)
