Any good advice for making farmland? I don't like the auto terrain tool - does not seem to work well and does not give me the look I would like. Thanks
The idea was intriguing, but then all the copyright stuff and open source material and all sort of turned me off. I got some good ideas though from looking at the examples and came up with a simple fix. I used 'default terrain, steppe' to make the crop blocks, and then ran waving lines through it using the draw function to create the furrows. I liked the png graphics from google, but he lines were to strait for a fantasy/medieval period I think. This give me the same darn colors for each piece of crop field, but he uneven and slightly wavy lines are probably more like what their fields would have been like. Would like to vary the colors some, but the default terrain types are somewhat limiting. So far I really like the program (especially for the cost / compared to say using photoshop). Easier to bang out maps as well. I see unrealized potential though. This could be done to do a lot more. I am hoping to see more versitility when I get into the annuals.

Not a perfect solution, but I like it better than the built-in tools.
