Emailing Maps & Effects

I created my first map, and I have emailed to my gaming group, but the effects don't show (no beach, fades, and glows). They have to go and toggle on effects to get them to show up. Is there a way to do this so that the effects load up automatically when the viewer uploads a map? Also, we are experiencing a lot of issues with the viewer. Keep getting errors and the viewer wants to shut down about a 3rd of the time. Thanks

  • I don't know if this works in the viewer, but in CC3, go to Tools -> Options, and at the bottom select under Effects on Load the Always On option.

You might not want to do this in your version of CC3 though because it can slow down opening of a file.
  • Thanks - I will have to test it to see if it emails okay.
  • There has to be another way to ensure that sheet effects are always on in an individual FCW map when you open it because I have some example maps that do this and my CC3 Effects on Load is always set to As Drawing.

I have tried to save my own maps with the effects on, but when I reopen them the effects are off, so there must be a setting somewhere I'm not seeing.

There are several ways. I don't have CC3 on this computer, but the effects on load setting should have an "as map" option. This should cause the effects to be turned on if the map was last saved with effects on.

It is also possible to add the EFFECTSON command to the onOpenMacro map note, which will turn on the effects when this particular map is loaded, no matter the Effects on Load setting.

It's hit or miss for me. Sometimes they're on, sometimes they aren't.

    Thanks I'll try that.
