Trying to do a parchment style map in A4-Portrait setting
Whats the best setting t use as every time i pu in the sizes (eh H = 1000, w = 500) it still seems to come out in a rectangle-landscape style

Might be too early in the morning, but any suggestions?

For A4 at

300 dpi I use H=3508 and W=2480
200 dpi: H=2339 and W=1653
72 dpi: H=842 and W=595

hmmm i just noticed that when i put on of the dimensions in the other one changes to keep it in portrait format..

You are trying to adjust the xy scale of a templates that has a fixed xy scale - this won't work. It is at a fixed scale, because the ragged borders would otherwise not work.

Try the following:

- Create the new map in landscape portrait as normal.
- Thaw and show all layers.
- Right-click the Rotate button and choose "non-visual rotate". Select all, Do it and rotate by 90°, reference point 0,0.
- Zoom extents to get the map back into the middle of the screen.

Now go ahead and draw your map.

ok now i think i done something wrong...all i'm getting is the blank parchemnt page with out the image or text or aything else on it, when i save/export to BMP, PNG etc
Edit : This appears to be hapeneing on all maps using the parchment - created a test using another teplate and it worked fine
Edit 2: And as if by magic it seems to be working again. Think i borked a setting along the way somehwere
