New Mapper and some questions about lakes...

Hi all. I just finished my first map last night. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Now when I attempted to make my lakes through the use of sheets, they always disappeared, even when they were lower down on the list (ie. below land and all that). Not sure if it got bugged but it frustrated me enough to try a simpler solution, though not one for long term. I just plopped down another water filled land mass on top of my current land. Now this obviously didn't allow me to do any type of effects. Has this happened to other people or am I just an idiot and doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.

your sheets should be in this order.

ocean
land
lake

Hey JimP. Ya, as I said in my post, my lake sheet was lower than land which was why I asked whether or not it could be bugged and if anyone had run into that type of thing. Thanks though.

Hm... that is trange. What tool did you use to create lakes at first? I just tried it on your map, and the lake appeared fine where it belonged (on the RIVERS sheet). If you created your own sheet for lakes, you need to change the "River, Lake" tool to actually put the lakes there.
