Landscape to Portrait

Hi there

I have built a map but want to change the orientation of the map to be portrait with the snow/ice/polar region at the top.
I am going to replace some items, like the trees, mountains, structures and so forth.

How do I make the software rotate the map 90 degrees clockwise, otherwise I will have to tilt my head the whole time when working with it.

Thanks
SagaN

If your snow/ice is on the left or right side, just export the map as bmp, png.

Then import the graphic into Irfanview and rotate it. Save. Voila ! Snow and Ice are at the top of the map.
  • Hi there

I don't have a problem with that, I need the whole map to be portrait view in CC3 so that I can replace/add
the trees, mountains, structures and so forth to have the orientation correct.

    Thanks

  • Make a copy of your map (always a good idea before doing something big)
    Thaw and show all layers
    Show all sheets
    click the 'rotate' button
type 'a' for all (you should see all entities highlighted)
    type 'd' for done
enter the point to rotate around
Move cursor to rotate (or press shift to limit to 15 degree angles, or type in the angle you want)
click (if using free rotation) or enter (if typing in the angle) to end command

    Everything should be rotated.
  • Wowsers. I didn't know that was there.

    Thanks !
  • I use that a lot -- My main map is an interrupted projection, so I'm often taking one part of the map and rotating it to make sure it lines up with the other part of the map.
