How to fill an polygon area

Hi all,
My first post, I am still new to this.

When I draw a landmass area using the " DEFAULT TERRAIN " tool top left, it pops up and ask what texture it needs to be filled with.

QUESTION 1 :
I am drawing a polygon shape with " POLYGON " tool right hand side middle and when I right-click and it closes the area it fills it with the default black
How the heck do I edit that fill to be say the light desert fill that comes with the software ?

QUESTION 2 :
Can I set the draw method as that texture and then draw using any of the polygon methods and everything I draw will be filled as such a chosen texture
until I choose another texture to be the default fill style ?

Thanks
SagaN

1: Use "Change Properties" image on the polygon to change the fill style.

2: Yes. Just use the indicators in the top status bar to change the fill style before you draw the polygon (FS = Fill style). The polygon will be drawn with the values selected here. Note that drawing tools often change these values, so if you have used a drawing tool, you may need to set the fill style back before drawing another basic shape.
  • Hi, thanks for the prompt reply

    1. I can not see the tab/option to browse to the normal like say desert type textures.

    2. Same for this one, it pops up all kinds of things like hash maps and black & white textures, not the light desert or such ?

    Please help.

    1. Are you executing the command correctly? (That is, click the "change propertie" button, click the polygon edge to select it, then right click and "do it". This should bring up a dialog where you can set a lot of properties, including the fill style).
Now, the actual fill styles available in depends on the map. But if you have drawing tools available (in that map), that draws with the desert fill style, it should be in the list as well. In my list, I have "desert bitmap" and "desert dark bitmap"

    2. Make sure you select the "Bitmap files" tab. This is where you will find the desert fills. As above, the desert fills are only here if they are included in this particular template.

Note that if you need fill styles that are not available in the template, these can be added by using "tools" --> "import bitmap fill styles"
  • Hi,

Thanks for this It helped and I found my way around to change the default and all that.

    Thanks again.
