Some Questions

I've got a few questions.

1.) When I purchased my ProFantasy software I didn't get all of my CDs at once. I just got recently several of the other CDs I ordered, but I haven't gotten my CD copy of Character Artist Pro. Who do I contact about that CD? It is the only CD I didn't recieve. Also, was the Symbol Set 2 CD suppossed to come with any manuals or refence sheets?

2.) I noticed a problem with one of the symbol sets in Character Artist Pro. The ElfFemaleHead.FSC has two diffrent symbols with the same name EFH Hair v j one of these it looks like ought to be titled EFH Hair v k from what I gather, by looking at other symbol sets for the other female races. How do I fix this symbol or can you post a fixed FSC?

3.) The PDF Character Artist Pro manual mentions a couple of tutorial files for Character Artist Pro in it I can't find those at all. Can you post these or send a link to them?

4.) If I open the map from Anual 37 title CA37_Example2.FCW and close CC3, when I go to reopen CC3 the program won't work. I open the CC3welcome.FCW right before I close the program, now to avoid the program not working when I reopen it. Not a major issue.

Thanks for all the great tech support. I love the software and am getting a lot of use out of it. Can't wait for the new version of Cosmographer.

    1) Contact the Order Desk. As for SS2, I don't believe it comes with a manual, but there should be a set of reference sheets. I believe I downloaded them from the order confirmation page for the order.

    2) To fix the symbol name, open up the symbol catalog in CC3 as if it was a map (that is, using the regular File->Open, and not the open symbol catalog button). You may wish to change the file type in the open dialog to see the symbol catalogs. After opening it, go to Symbols->Symbol manager, select the symbol and click rename, then ok and save the catalog

    4) Does this happen with any other maps? I cannot reproduce the issue here with the map you mention. If it is only that map, there might be something wrong with your copy. If so, try to reinstall that annual issue.

Re 1.) Thanks, I'll try and contact the Order Desk again.

Re 2.) Ok I've tried renaming the symbol name in the way you suggested and it isn't fixing it. When I change the name of the 2nd EFH Hair v j symbol to EFH Hair v k, it changes the other symbol to the same name. Also I made a typo when I typed the symbol names earlier. I went and edited my earlier post to correct that. The one I have 2 of is EFH Hair v j and the 2nd symbol with that name ought to be titled EFH Hair v k.

Re 3.) I haven't noticed that problem with any other maps yet, but I haven't been actively looking for that bug. I'm using Windows 7, wich might be the cause. I did redownload and install that annual, before I posted to the forum, as that didn't resolve it.

    2) This is best fixed by using the Rename/Reorder symbol function.

    a) Open the catalog directly in CC3 (with File > Open, not in the catalog window).
    b) From the Symbols menu choose "Rename & Reorder > Create symdef name file".
    c) Open the created file in a text editor (such as Notepad), change one of the symbol names and save it.
    d) Now choose "Rename & Reorder > Import renamed symdefs" and save the catalog.
