Newb Question about creating a Lake in CC3

Hi everyone,

Just purchases CC3 - used CC2 a LOONG time ago and I am just getting back into D&D. Kinda rusty with the program so please bare with me.

I have created a land contour layer for my mountains with the effects I am looking for and they look great. However when I try and create either a contour (sea) object for my lake or use the default sea tool, once the map is redrawn the lake vanishes. I am putting the lake area over my existing land mass that I drew originally as my continent. I have tried putting it onto separate layers, creating a new "Lake" layer and sheet to no avail. I have also tried moving the different layers in different orders. Right now my Lake sheet that I created is 3rd on the list above my land sheet. The only way my Lake shows if I select the box that says add to current sheet on the contour tool. Then it has the same effects as the mountains I created which I really do not want. I have tried changing the active sheet and selecting that option but it defaults back to the land contour layer.

Pretty sure I am doing something wrong as when I go to erase the area I am adding my lake too, the ones I have created come back and I can see them once more, of course until it is redrawn

Any help is greatly appreciated and welcome!!
