mirror of fire

following on from harshandatt this is the mirror of fire.
I'm in two minds about the central plateau/messa feature. should i make it smaller and/or move it more northwesterly. to make the island more isolated.
a bit of background. it's supposed to represent the remains of an ancient island. the mirror of fire being where a lake/inland sea used to be. both were destroyed by a great fire when the pillar of ormal collapsed. the lands to the southeast were formed as a result of earthquakes and floods from the same event. perhaps some of the land features are worn down remains of the pillar,

At first I thought it wasn't believable for a plateau to be in the middle of nowhere.
Then I recall some stuff like that in North America. Probably the southern states.
I found a kinda cool video.
i did a bit of a search to try and find an indication how big messas where, but didn't find anything useful.
i think i'll probably shrink it's size eventually
This might help. The difference between a plateau, a mesa and a butte is one of scale alone, and mesas may be a huge range of sizes.
A plateau may be thousands of square miles in area and is usually flattish on top, while a mesa is an eroded section of a plateau that has cliffs all around it. Mesas are wider than they are tall. A butte is an eroded mesa, much smaller, and usually taller than it is wide.
This page has an image at the top that makes is pretty clear.
I've been following this person on Instagram for a long time. He/she is a Beast!
i've done some more reading, experimenting and thinking, but it hasn't helped me come to a conclusion about the size.
so im sticking with the map below for now
