Åfjord and slightly south-west

I stretched Birdseye Continental towards its limits in terms of drawing a small scale map in this rendition of Apple Maps display of a very small part of the Åfjord district of Norway and the inner part of the fjord bearing its name.
I'd welcome any feedback as I've been working on the map for a long time and I'm beginning not to be able to see the woods for the trees!
Thanks in advance, Helen

That's really impressive work, Helen. A great map :)
it is but I’m still not happy with the colours of the text of the island and the names of the two big lakes, Sue. And, having just printed it out, I really don’t like the cartouch text
They're readable and relatively clear, but if you don't like them then maybe a different font would solve the problem.
I like it.
One thing to try maybe would be add a White OUTER GLOW to the landmass. It will soften the look, and kind of fit better with the theme of the map.
I do agree the text tends to get a little lost.
Overall I think it's pretty awesome.
Trouble is, Don, that as the template used is Birdseye Continental, the water sits on top of the land sheets and so you wouldn’t see any glow on the coastline - you’d see it on every terrain sheet, I suspect. I’ve only put the roads on top of the water in sheet order
Oh that is sucky. One thing I hate is using a tool and it has an outside glow that I can't change. Then I just use either the multipoly or fractal and add the same fill, then add my own glow.
the terrain tools don’t have glows and I’ve never yet come across a glow I can’t change. How about clicking the check box next to the glow and see if that works. I do turn off effects I don’t want - yet - and that has the same effect (excuse the pun) as deleting. hope that helps.
You can turn off any effect and put your glow or whatever in as the ticked version too
You can edit the glows on the WATER(ALL) sheet to get what you want, but remember they need to be inner, not outer to be inside the water.
All labels are now in bold - let me know if they're any clearer.
Yup it's terrific.
