Which Directory is for Fills?

This one may be a bit more technical.

Doing work on my spreadsheet for all symbols and all fills. Working on fills right now

When a fill is added into the Campaign Cartographer 3+ program, where does it go,

I know there are all the different add-ons, then all the annuals. Do they go into a main directory, or is a new directory created for each annual.

So far there are 412 different NEW MAP configurations from the 15 Map Styles. I just want to know if there is an easier way to locate all the new fills, rather than creating all 412 maps and maually looking at the fill list. (it will probably be less as I am sure metric and imperial maps would have the same list)

This is one system I hope is fixed for CC4. Finding the right fill is a headache. It's trial and error.

Very generally they all go in the ProgramData\Profantasy\CC3Plus\Bitmaps\Tiles folder, but there is a well developed structure in that main folder, as you can see below.

The annuals each go in one of these subfolders (above) according to what basic type they are - overland in the Overland folder, dungeon styles in the Dungeon folder, etc.

These are all the annuals in the Bitmaps\Tiles\Overland folder - all the overland annuals are there in their named subfolders.

Perhaps it's worth noting here (although it wasn't part of your question), that we encourage all user-generated fills to be put in a folder called USER placed in the Tiles folder, rather than scattered all over the place within the subfolders. It's a lot easier to copy your stuff and keep it safe if you get a new PC or have to do a major uninstall reinstall at any point.

  • Wow thanks Sue. I was snooping a lot through all the folders. I just want to make sure I look in the right places, and not miss stuff, or add wrong things.

I like the tip for the USER file.

    You're welcome.

The USER folder is also a good place to store any 3rd party purchased fills - in their own subfolder.
