Inverse Shape to make an Ocean
I have my landmass shape picked out and I have changed over to the Darklands overland style. The PDF mentions drawing the water to form your land shape so that any terrain draws are hidden under the water and I'd gladly accept that margin for error. My problem becomes how to create the ocean shape to have the rectangular outside and then use my landmass as a middle. I tried using trace but due to the size of my landmass and other oddities I've noticed with trace (creating multiple paths for the same section so I'd have to delete 3-5 nodes at the same coordinates) it doesn't really work well.
Is there some way to essentially merge an outside rectangle and my landmass to create the complex shape or a way to do a cutout of the water?

The template has a Color Key sheet effect on the WATER sheet, so if you draw an ocean that covers the map, and then move your land shape to the WATER sheet and use Change Properties to change the fill of that land to Solid and colour 6 (magenta), the land shape will cut a hole through the water to your land.
I drew one here for you, using the Sea, Island drawing tool (which does the same thing)
Then hit refresh (CTRL+R) to see the result.

Perfect, thank you so much for pointing that out!
You're welcome, Syrenthra :)
