Problems with diagonal corridors

I want to redraw a dungeon from an old AD&D adventure module to use it in a VTT. I started by drawing the first rooms and then the connecting corridors. I set the width of all corridors to 9 because I want them to be mostly flush with the squares. The original dungeon map has diagonal corridors. But when I draw diagonal corridors, they don't really connect with other rooms (see screenshot), and very often there are still walls where the corridors connect with rooms or other corridors, although I pressed "B" to break the wall.
I want the diagonal corridor to connect with the top left square (see red box). How can I do this?

I just tried a similar map myself. The problem seems to be caused by joining the corridor to the second room on the corner.
I recommend adjusting the position of the click you make in the second room to avoid including that corner, like this.
I clicked on the wall between the top two floor tiles of the second room. Where did you do click in your example? And I would like to not have the tunnel opening to stretch across 1.5 grid squares.
I clicked way into the room, around the centre. But before I clicked I checked that the projected line on that left side was to the right of the corner, so as not to include the corner in the junction.
With a diagonal corridor you will get a wider entrance to the room because you are ending the corridor by cutting it diagonally across instead of straight across. If you want a standard corridor width opening you will have to turn that corridor square to the second room before attaching it. Like this:
Thanks, that's what I will do then.
I had to resize the drawing area, but the additional space was added at the top of the map...
How can I move the things that I have already drawn to the top of the map?
You can move everything using the Move,Scale,Rotatetool on the left hand toolbar. Be careful to select only the contents of the map by box selecting just inside the frame.
I drew the diagonal and some of the horizontal/vertical walls manually, and then placed the floor texture. Now, I am placing doors and the door that I place on manually drawn walls "vanish" unter the walls.
Why is this happening and how can I fix this?
I found the issue. I had two layers of walls.
In order for the doors to cut the walls, they (the walls) must also be on the WALLS layer, as well as the WALLS sheet. This will be important if you choose to use any open doors.
There are open doors? I have never seen open doors in my symbol sets.
Oh, my bad. There don't appear to be any in this style. Usually there are open doors as well as closed ones.
