Re-Tracing a Map

Is there a way to to reinsert your tracing sheet under the map you were working on if you deleted it then saved your work by mistake?

Only by repeating the original insert file operation with the same graphic as before.

You might have to fiddle around quite a bit with the scale to get it more or less the same, but if you use the same pasting origin, which will hopefully have been 0,0 (zero, zero), and then use that pasting origin as the scale origin in each case of rescaling it, then you might get a fairly good match.

If you put your original on a layer of it's own you can hide and unhide it instead of deleting it - just in case.

  • Personally, I'd also recommend saving more than one copy of the map next time. Just make sure you put it in a place where the file-path for the inserted image will still work (such as keeping the inserted image in the same folder, with the same file-path, as the CC3+ map, even if that copy may be on a different drive). We all learn by our mistakes, after all (you are not alone!).

What condition is the AUTOSAVE file in? Was it saved after the mistake? or before? This could save the day or not depending.
