Community Atlas - Irisian City States - Giant Circle Island
My other computer's videocard just died - under warranty. Grrrr. Will need to wait a few days for it to be replaced!!! So I cannot work on my maps underway at present, so am working on my backup computer instead. Yes, I know I should have backed my recent work up.
So, I decided to do a quick map of a small island off the Irisian City coast in the continent of Artemisia in the community Atlas, using a style I have not used before, the Treasure map style.
I have a few queries: 1 Why are there turquoise area around the coast, eg in the south?
2 How do I get rid of the white in the Mike Schley Ink symbols - I know there is a way, but I cannot find it.
Text will be added to read like a treasure map later, when I fix up these matters, and also any other points people may raise.

Find out what the turquiose is using List from the Info menu on it if you can grab it. If not, then switch sheet effects off and see if it's still there.
In order to get rid of the white you must put the background sheet with it's canvas texture on top of everything else and add a Blend Mode sheet effect set to Multiply. It's an upside down way of doing things unless you use bitmap graphic apps, where it is quite common to 'impose' a background texture on top of the whole drawing this way.
Thanks Sue.
I have worked out what the problem with the turquoise is. However, I still cannot get the white of the stone circle symbol to turn off, despite doing what you said. Yet the dwarf head symbol does have the white turned off - from the same symbol set (Mike Schley Inks)
Here is the FCW, as well as jpg.
Ah yes. I had forgotten that the land itself has a texture other than white.
I hid the old BACKGROUND here because you don't need 2 backgrounds multiplied together.
Try putting the imported symbol on a sheet of it's own below the LAND sheet and adding a multiply blend mode to the LAND sheet. Make sure the blend mode is above the glow effect in the LAND sheet effects list.
I would have suggested changing the land fill to white and leaving everything else as it is, but the hills are parchment textured and appear darker than the land if you do that.
Brilliant. I actually used a modified vector symbol in the end, but this method will be useful in future times - I am saving the methodology. Thanks so much Sue.
Here is the final map. Comments required before submitting to the Atlas. Especially Ralf, Remy and Wyvern.
Thanks @Quenten, map is now in the atlas:
