I was working on a map and everything went white, I can see the image in the preview when I go to open the file however it opens into a "Unnamed View" window. I'm not sure what I did to get this??

Have you checked your sheets to make sure they are turned on? If they are all hidden then you will just see the white background.
It might also be that you are zoomed to a weird location. Try Zoom Extents
or Zoom To all Text (right click Zoom Extents
)
(The "Unnamed View" is quite normal, you need to manually create a named view to have anything else)
