A generic ruined town, 3 different settler groups

Without a grid, and with a hexagon or square grid. Three different groups settled here over the years. Last one are elves.
Any suggestions ? I want to keep it rather plain for text, so the users can make of it for their game world.

The placement of the buildings seems a bit too uniform and disconnected from the road network, perhaps. Not sure how modern a setting this might be intended for though.
Not modern at all. I can rearrange the buildings. Or, the roads came in later, originally a few foot paths.
The elves like to change things up a bit.
Hmm, yes a more haphazard layout for the buildings would probably work better for a non-modern setting - make them more related to the roads, and maybe mix up the ruins a bit more, so they look less uniform next to one another. And if you have a row of houses, perhaps miss out a couple of buildings, and just add some scattered rubble there instead.
I hadn't seen Dalton's post, but here is an update with more paths that connect the elves' places. The rest are abandoned.
I'll be out of town for a few days to a sf convention. So I wont be posting except via cellphone.
well, I found time to update these maps.
A small stream on the upper right, with 3 tents nearby. And a pond in the center. Added a few more trees.
Back at home, but too tired to do mapping today. Maybe Tuesday. Air conditioner in my newer vehicle quit working.
