Importing vector symbols with no background for a parchment background

Hello,
I have the following question: is it possible to import vector symbols (with no background) of mountains, cities, trees, etc. so that you can use them in a map with a parchment background?
The idea is to make the symbols automatically blend with the parchment. In other words to directly have the same effect as placing the symbols that go with the Cartographers Annual 2017 (style pack parchments).
Would love if someone can explain me a bit or point me to a source with some explanation.
Thank you.

As long everything except the solid-colour parts of the vector drawings are transparent, and in a PNG format, this should be perfectly practical.
Not sure exactly what parts of the process you may need help with, but perhaps these two half-hour video tutorials may help:
Symbols - Part 1: Finding and Preparing Images
Symbols - Part 2: Creating a Symbol Catalog
Where are you getting these vector symbols from? Are you talking about using existing vector symbols in CC3+ and import them into a different style, or are you getting them from somewhere else? That makes a huge difference when we talk vector symbols.
Thanks for the tutorials, @Wyvern Going to take a look.
@Monsen a friend (artist) would make the symbols for me with adobe illustrator and I want to import them in campaign cartographer
I see. In that case, Wyverns tips should help. Vector isn't a universal format that can just be shared between programs, so they should be exported from Illustrator as .png (raster) files and imported as raster symbols.
