The Isle Of Asedo
This is a map of the very large isle of Asedo, a land torn apart by warring factions. Sort of like the War of the Roses/Time of struggle between Empress Mathilda and King Stephen in UK history. Its nominal capital is Asedo, a beautiful port city, to be detailed later. I just feature its few famous landmarks.
The map is in Spectrum style with settlement symbols mainly Mike Schley.

Looks like a great start there, nice coastline and shape of landmass.
Some minor adornments. I intend to put coats of arms of all the Counties under the first one of Asedo City.
Text and heraldry to go
Did you use the heraldry annual for those nation shields?
No, they are the genuine Article. The map is based on the Odesa Oblast in Ukraine, and they are the coat of arms for the various Raions in the Oblast, just turning it into a Fantasy map. The names are mainly inversions of the Ukrainian names. Except for Edenza (after Eden where I now live) and Emita (where I used to live). My fiancee is Ukrainian, from Odesa, so it is in her honour. And that is her picture.
She is quite lovely if it is okay to say that here.
Those are awesome shields.
Yes. The Ukrainian Heraldry is quite different to UK and France.
Armorial of Ukraine - Wikipedia
A revision of the Isle - to take into account we will have an adopted daughter, Ruslana, rescued from the devastation Mariupol yesterday - Tatiana's niece. Her own special kingdom. She is a very traumatized child - her parents were both shot, and she was 2 days with no food in a basement. She was able to ring her Auntie Tati, who arranged rescue - Tati and I will be her guardians, as Tati is her nearest relative. The coat of arms is for the doomed city of Mariupol
And of course, here is her Kingdom.
And the route Tati took to pick her up from the town (Dnepropetrovsk) where the couple who smuggled her out from Mariupol went. Using the Strip Maps annual which I guess will be this week's Live Mapping Session.
Not yet complete.
So terrible, Quenten, and so sorry for y'all. Won't distract the mission of this site with a political discussion, but I think we can all agree that what is happening there is a travesty.
Yes, my life is definitely a Ukrainian filled one now. And the tragedy for poor little 8 year old Ruslana is horrible. Tatiana has also been wounded with shrapnel from shelling in Odesa, needing many stitches in her arm and leg, and she lost a lot of blood. I don't think anyone there has been unaffected.
