I don't know what a conundrum map is, so I will probably make a suggestion that doesn't really apply, but I can ask a question...
When you say 'convert', what are you converting it to?
When you save as a graphic type like bmp or png, the options can be set for size.
Also confine to map border is there.
sorry i mean Campaign cartographer 3+
where? all i got is save as.
I was on my cell earlier and couldn't check. I'm now on my desktop computer.
Save as. select a graphic export like bmp or png.
When you do that, the options, lower right on the save as popup, has details on how it is saved as.
You can set the height and width. Below that click the 'crop image to aspect ratio' and click to set 'restrict image to map border.
Note that some templates the map border is set to leave a white border around the map exported.
To fix that select 'rectangular section' for whichever the three graphic types you want.
Click save.
Click mouse pointer to upper left, then move the pointer to lower right, then click again. The map will save as that area.
That lets you also export small portions of a map. Rectangular area, or square, are the only two options.
yeah i found it. is there any way to get to just convert a bit of the map?
You can select the size of the rectangular section so it only saves the part you want. Just by where you click.
where the rectangular section? am looking and i cant find it
When you save as. One of the possibilities is rectangular section bmp, rectangular section jpg, rectangular png.
You have to scroll down to see them.
I never noticed the options button when I went to save. I always changed it in the options under tools. So I learned something new.
Jim means the File name: dropdown selection. Once you click one of the bitmap types the Options button gives you all the usual options - how large, how antialiased... etc.
These example settings will give you a neatly cropped map with the longest side being 3000 px long, and is a personal default size I use for example maps.
My apologies. I dont always go into enough detail.
You were right, Jim.
I just provided the screen shots that you couldn't really do on the phone anyway ;)
I frequently have cartography conundrums when working on maps. Fortunately, Brute Force and Ignorance [FB&I (TM)] get me through the crisis.
