How would you draw huge spider webs?

With my players trekking through the underdark, it could be a matter of time until they take a misstep and plunge into the darkness. Instead of just throwing their characters to the bin, I might use this Deus Ex Machina device: a giant spider web that would save them, albeit by adding another complication.
Except.. I don't quite know how to make it look better.
Here's my starting point (it's a battlemap to be used in a VTT):
It's basically a few off-white lines and paths (3 feet wide), some displacement, and some blur. Oh, and a ledge nearby.
Anyone have tips or suggestions?

It's the right shape :)
Have you tried playing around with the Bevel or Bevel, Lighted effects to see if you can make it look like the threads are rounded?

I forgot to post this yesterday:
I toyed around with both Bevel effects and tried tinkering with the settings. I found it very hard to notice the slight variations between those attempts (especially since I really liked adding the blur afterwards), but here it is.
Now that I think about it, I didn't try a smaller Bevel, one that covers 1/3 of the width.. I guess I should try that next.
