Hi everyone,

I've made some maps for the Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh Haunted House.

Please critique as I may be using them in the game and I want them to be the best I can make them.

They all look really good :)

How about adding a Wall Shadow, Directional to the FLOORS sheet to cast a shadow outside the building on the first three maps? If you then place a plain solid-colour copy of the walls to the FLOORS sheet the shadow will be even more accurate.

A couple points for the ground floor.

I can see the foyer floor being marble tile but for the rest of it something less expensive should be used (vertical hardwood for most of it with checkerboard or terracotta tile for the kitchen).
The wooden stairs should be reversed so the flat end is the first step off the current floor and the rough one is on the other floor. Since the foyer stairs are stacked perhaps a door on the down going side would work.

I made some changes following the advice. I have put the wall shadow on the ground floor but when I print it off I think I'm getting the same problem that I had with my sewer maps a while ago.

Hi Sue,

The problem with my sewer map was I used lighting on it, but when I printed the map not all the shadow was being printed. You told me how to solve the problem, and I think the first map is suffering that problem as well. Most of the shadow prints OK, but a small area looks wrong as not all of the shadow has printed.
