Doors don't cut walls

I have a dungeon map with rooms and walls around the rooms. I thought I could just add doors where the openings are supposed to be and it would cut out that section of wall, but it does not. When I refresh, the wall is still there with the door in the middle of it. I have tried the DD3 doors and ss4 doors. I verified on right click that disable smart features is not selected.

Are your walls on the right layer? The cutting feature uses the layer to identify the entity type so that it doesn't cut the floor instead. The walls have to be on the WALLS layer for the cutting to work.
Also, it is an advantage to turn off snap when working with the cutting symbols, especially if you are trying to hit angled walls or walls not exactly on the snap grid.
Turning snap off worked thanks!
That worked 90% of the time. I still have some instances where my doors appear inside my walls. I'm using a grid so it's very hard to select just the walls. They also don't seem the get the purple highlighting, so I can't tell when they are selected. Any other sugestions?
Does it get better if you hide the grid? The grid shouldn't normally interfere, unless it is on the wrong layer, but turning it off is a good test.
I agree, sometimes the door cutter and door placement is hampered by the grid. Most likely, I have it on the wrong layer or something. I hide and freeze the grid when I do doors and use the cutter for openings.
