Why Aren't Custom Colors Staying?

There are like 2-3 custom colors I am using. What I do is click on a color I know I am not going to use. I then click to define the color. I then set the color and add it to the custom color. I then click OK. Then, it changes the spot to the custom color.
However, I find that the custom color often resets. So I then clicked save the pallet. That holds the colors, but everytime I switch the menus, it defaults back. I then have to reload for the colors to return.

Try opening the Drawing Properties dialog
and clicking Attach to drawing, then saving the map.
That worked. I think CC3 has too many unnecessary steps sometimes.
I think the save palette process is intended more for when you want to store a palette for later use in other maps than to attach it to the current map.
