Is there any way to convert .bmp files to .fcw ?
Hi learned users
I'm currently doing map designs for wargames. The basic parameters of the map space need to be defined in the wargame software and are then dumped as a .bmp. I then edit the .bmp in photoshop or similar and uplead a nice map to the gaming software. With CC3 or CD3 I dont seem to be able to upload a .bmp to edit so it seems I need a way to convert the .bmp to something readable by the profantasy software. Has anyone got a work aroung for this?
Cheers

.bmp is a bitmap picture while CC3 works with vectors.
What you could do is import the .bmp through draw>Insert File and trace over...
Is there a way to import the .bmp in exactly the same size? Ie: the same width and height as the bitmap?
When you use the draw>insert file command, CC3 asks a first point so type 0,0 (Enter)
CC3 asks then the next point so type bitmap_width,bitmap_height.
For example, if your bitmap is 3200x2400 type 3200,2400
Afterward, when your work is over and you need a bitmap export, use Save As, Rectangular Bitmap, and the same points.
(set the option button to the right size before clicking ok)
thanks alot - off to map
cheers
Don't embed the bmp, place it by reference.
Here are my map tutorials, which will show you how to do that.
