Need comments on Overland style

Hi Everyone,
I need an opinion on this overland style before I carry it over to the rest of my maps. What do you think?

Main aspects are;
1) The grid style (just around land)
2) Coast style
3) River style

I like it. Not a big fan of grids, but that's something personal.
Oh, and the southern rivers do seem a bit wide. Effects are nice.

I inserted some sand bars into the southern rivers to give them a "sleeker" look. The grids can be turned on and off, but this map is for political play, thus the grids. Thanks for the feedback Gandwarf. :-)

I like this style. A lot. Though now I'm using more styles from the annuals.
personally, I prefer grids that cover the whole map instead of just around the borders. And I have to agree about the rivers.

Very nice work. I'd probably want to give the sea area some kind of texture or contours to break it up a bit.

Thanks bearclaw, I like a lot of the Annals styles as well, but wanted my own for my new Campaign world.

How did you limit the grid ?

Hi Joachim, the grid is basically hollow red hex polys on the Grid sheet. For overland maps I usually use a 30 or 20 mile hex grid.

Here is an SS2 example map that does what I mean: http://www.profantasy.com/images/gallery/gallery29.jpg. If you separate the sea contours across several sheets, you can also use the "Edge Fade Inner" effect to blend them more into each other.
