New Mapping Style

I'm a big fan of the work of H. P. Lovecraft and the Call of Cthulhu RPG. I'm working on a new "modern" mapping style based on one I have seen on the internet. I'm not sure who the originator was but a similar style was used to produce a "Lovecraft Country" (before the series was released) map. It makes heavy use of sheet effects as you can see from the examples below:
I like it because it is easy to work with and you can produce a modern map with it very quickly. The grey areas are urbanized areas, the beige areas represent hilly/elevated areas. I would welcome any comment on how to improve the style or any features that other folks may like to see.

It looks nice. It looks like you are doing overland maps. Annual 4 has a modern overland map style you might want to modify to use: https://www.profantasy.com/annual/2010/june10.html
As for city maps, there are 1930's map sets and a Cthulhu map set. However these may look too old in style for any use.
Thanks. I'll take a look.
