Named view as a separate map?

I have a world map I imported from FT into CC3. I have located a continent I want to develop in more detail. Can I name a view and export this as a separate map?

The reason I ask is because I don't want to clog up my world-map with continent-level details (like highest mountains, roads, cities, etc.....)

Not quite as simple as making a named view, but it isn't really difficult either.

If you go to your registration page, you'll find a link to the Map Maker's Chest among the links to the right. Once there, you'll find a tutorial named "Local Map from Regional Map", which describes this process in detail

I think you can also zoom in on your fractal map (provided it was saved) and export the zoomed window. When I was playing with it a long time ago I thought you could do this. Means effectively you can make smaller local maps from zoomed sections of your fractal map.

I'll have to have a play with it at some point to confirm it myself.

ok did a quick test and it appears that you can indeed zoom in on the fractal terrains world and export it (in this case as a CC2 map). The map I did only had the zoomed window in the output file. Hope this helps.
