Why won't the houses change color?
Hello, I am new here, and new to the program.
I am using city designer to make a real simple map, and I'm just trying to get the little house icons to change color. I found the right tool/button for it, and I got it to work on some of the houses, but it just won't work on others. The color just stays the same no matter what I choose in the palette, and if I go to retry, the old color is still there. Sometimes it's not even the actual color of the building.
I am not trying to do anything complicated, I haven't messed with the layers or anything, I'm literally just getting stuck trying to change the color of a few houses, and its just not working sometimes.
Is this a bug or something?

No it's not a bug. Whether you can change the colour of a house or not depends on what kind of house it is. If you do it to one that has been placed as a varicolour symbol it will work. If not, it won't.

The vari-colour symbols are the ones with a coloured square in the top right corner, just in case you weren’t aware of that.

Thank you for your help!
I think I figured it out.
I had to push the color square on the status bar to change the color of the whole set of symbols.
