At last - I hope this feature is as useful as it sounds! I've tried to use this before and just ended up more confused than I started.
For small multi-level dungeons I make the entrance/top level very basic map. With one or two spiral stairs.
Then I save as level02, save as level03, etc. for how many I plan to make. That way the spiral stairs are all lined up. Regular stairs, I have to get out the trig 2 page sheet I bought at a book store, and pan it out so the stairs aren't steep.
Unless I want them to be steep. I used a variable angle triangle from drafting, set it to the correct angle, and show the back of it with no numbers, to my players.
I'm very interested to watch this for future maps. My current project is multi-level dungeon but I decided to do them as individual drawings so I didn't confuse myself. Would I be correct in assuming each level needs to be the same size, e.g. 200x160?
@JimP That's kind of a manual way of doing the same thing as this Live Mapping session.
@jmabbott What Ralf will be demonstrating is a way of setting this up from the start with hyperlinks between each FCW level.
25 minute call... :)
