borders on symbols - a 'rookie' question

How do I get the lines to go away? The lines are the edges of symbols - I've had this problem before but I can't remember how I did it.

I've never seen any lines around symbols except when I select them. Are those the lines you mean? If so, then refresh should get rid of them.
Or is there perhaps a glow effect on the sheet with the symbols that creates the lines? A screenshot of the problem would help.
here's what I'm talking about. Yesterday it was all four sides but today most of them are only 3 sided!
Looks like the regular selection indicators. As long as you are not inside an actual command and actively have these selected, it should go away with a click on Redraw
, or in very rare cases, select something else first, such as draw a temporary line, then Erase
it (since this involves selecting it) and then do Redraw
.
These symbols placed via Draw / Insert File or via Drag and Drop, and not from a symbol catalog?
There is an option "Hide Picture Outline". When this option checked, the outlines are gone.
