[Fractal Terrains 3] polar ice caps?

I've been having a play with the synthetic world generation settings but can't seem to figure out any way to get a pair of polar ice caps to be generated? This is something I'd like to have in an earth-like world I'm trying to build... I'm sure I must be missing something obvious somewhere... can anyone help? :)

FT3 only builds landmasses, not ice caps. But if you generate a planet with landmasses on the poles, and check the climate view, there will always be ice at the poles (for the default temperature model anyhow). There are no guaranteed way to get landmasses at the poles though, FT3 is random world generation after all.

Of course, if you switch to the Gaia view, it will visually indicate a pair of polar ice caps on your planet. Unfortunately, these don't follow the climate model, and will always look the same, there are no way to modify them.
  • You can also get them, with no polar land mass, by switching to climate view and add the ice terrain where you want.
