Editing problem

I have no idea what my fingers just did, but whenever i try to edit anything i right click Edit Properties, the left click the entity or create a section to be edited....instead of allowing me to left click i am getting this...and if it right click the layer box opens. what did i inadvertently do and how might i rectify this?

You can just escape from that. Its the change the properties' layer.
