Perspectives 3 - Circular Rooms and facing walls

Is there anyway to create a circular room, using the circular room tool and not have the facing walls drawn? I've tried the various options i.e. no facing walls, wire frames, etc..but they always come out with a facing wall. I've looked through the essentials guide as well as the Tome of Ultimate Mapping looking at the cc3 version (although doing this in cc3+) but no luck. I've also made a circular floor and drawn the wall around part of it but it doesn't look good even with the different nodes spaced fairly close together. Does anyone know if this is even possible, and if so how to make the circular rooms without a facing wall?

You can't draw a circular room without facing walls AFAIK, but if you use explode on the wall after drawing the room, you can then erase segments from it. Note that this will not be perfect, and it depends a bit on the room if it will work visually at all.

In a pinch, you should be able to draw a 2-D arc and then extrude it into a wall.

I previously postulated:In a pinch, you should be able to draw a 2-D arc and then extrude it into a wall.
I tried this myself and was surprized to find that, even though my 2-D arc had a width of 1, my extruded wall, which looked mostly cool, only extruded the inside edge of the arc — a bug with circular rooms in general that I thought had been squashed.

@Dogtag, do you have 'Facing walls are lower' check marked under Room Options ?

I didn't make a room, Jim. I created a 2-D arc (for a wall), applied a 3-D projection on it so it would lie on the isometric "floor" with the other Per3 drawings, and then extruded it to a wall.

The arc had a line thickness of 1.0000 so it was filled with a stone bitmap fill, like the tops of the walls in my Per3 map. When it extruded, only the inner edge of the 1'-wide arc extruded up, making it look like a "3-D" semicircle wall with a 1' path going around the outside.

Sorry, I'm not at the computer with the test drawing so i can't include a pic but if you can see similar reasults (albeit with fully circular rooms, instead of simple arc walls) on Shessar's earlier post.

I was mostly wondering if it had an effect.

Hmm... I thought the arc command created an arc, not a circle. So I'm now a bit confused as to how it was made.

You're right, of course. The various ARC comands do make an arcs, not circles. Warhound was asking how to make a circular room with no front wall (or, presumably, a lower front wall). Monsen said you can't do that. So I suggested using an extruded arc instead, just for the back wall.
