How do I change the fill color of a forest tool? Nothing is working.
I am a new user of CC3 (first post as well). Im in a bit of a bind due to my ignorance.
What I am attempting to do is change the default fill color of a forest fill tool. Right now all the forest symbols and fill tools use the same color, a light green. I want to create a darker, moodier forest color for use as ancient forest, which would stand apart from the standard forest look. Ive tried a number of things, but nothing is sticking. Ive tried the change properties button along the left side, and choosing the color option on the drop-down menu, and then selecting a section of forest on the map, doesnt work. Ive tried going into the custom drawing tools, selecting a fill style such as Terrain Default, Forest Mixed, and changing the color there; while Im able to go into the properties and change the color, it doesnt effect the fill style, so Im clearly not understanding that either.
Any help would be appreciated!

You can use varicolor symbols. Load the Vegetation symbol catalog and scroll down, you'll see varicolor versions of the various trees. Change the current drawing color and they adjust to match.
You might want to experiment with the RGB Matrix Process effect. To do so, add the effect to the sheet where you place your forests, and play with the effect settings. Be sure to save before and after you add the effect so you don't have to re-add and re-set the effect if there's a problem. That effect has a bunch of possible settings to tweak. I'm sorry I can't tell you more. I honestly don't know if it will do what you want, but I've seen maps that used it to good... er... effect. I know the effect exists but I've never played with it, myself. Maybe Ralf or someone else can give you some additional suggestions.
Good luck!
