  I recommend leaving the program itself on the C drive, it is only about 30MB in size (and that's including all add-ons released so far), and just change the location of the data directory (this one gets pretty big) to another drive, as you can do that from the installer. As for third party materials (especially symbols and fills), to be able to use relative paths properly when addressing resources, they should really be inside your CC3+ data directory (i.e. NOT still another drive). If you don't do that, you risk getting into trouble if you ever need to change the location, because you then would need to change the paths in all your drawings, something not required if the path was a proper relative path to something inside the data directory.
  
  If you install CC3 as well, then it's fine to install the entire program on your drive, since it stores program and data in the same directory. Same note about third party stuff though, everything should be inside the CC3 directory.
  Any other software, like FT should work fine when installed on or any other drive.

  Thanks for the advice. Was able to successfully install CC3+ with the base program on the C drive and everything else on the D drive. I could have answered my own question if I had paid more attention to the install questions. For some reason I totally mis-read the data directory location request. Going to leave CC3 on the C drive for now until I can move everything over to CC3+, then I'll limit my mapmaking to CC3+.
