Burned Buildings

What's an easy way to produce burned effects on existing building symbols in CC3? I've attached a picture of what I'm going for.

I don't see how you could do that without a lot of fiddling, but you can easily blot symbols out by moving them to a separate sheet that has a transparancy effect with a suitable texture overblend. Like so :-

I ended up doing something rather clever. Below is the before shot. I used the Autorealm symbol catalog set to black for some basic shapes.

Here's the after shot, with just a simple blur setting (radius 2 on it's own layer and sheet). I also burned the trees by just using a grayed varicolor symbol.

However, what you've done is great for a city in say an ashen wasteland (post-Mt. St. Helens).
