This week in live mapping, Ralf will be creating a building floorplan in the style of the latest Annual (Kevin Goebel's Fantasy Town and Inn), using a combination of various styles.
Come join us live on the day (date and time shown in the left margin) and join the discussion here on Youtube:

Or if you can't make it you can watch the recorded stream later either here or on Youtube.
This thread isn't monitored during the live show, but you are welcome to add your comments and or questions before and after.

30 minutes :)
The results of yesterday's mapping sessions. Not a finished map, but perhaps useful for checking things out.
Thanks Ralf :)
Ooo, I have a tip/shortcut.
This prepares the second floor in a much cleaner way that requires less "fixing"
- Copy Floor 2 file
- Go to Floor 1 and save over the main Floor 2 file (this is after you have Floor 1 walls, fills added, tools, etc set up)
- Edit and change the text to be Floor 2 (or whatever appropriate)
- Delete the Navigation Box
- Open your copied Floor 2 in another CC3+ instance (so both Floor 2 and copied Floor 2 are open), to the Edit/Copy to copy the Navigation Box in Copied Floor 2, set origin 0,0 (having both open may be option - regardless - you are copying the navigation from one file to another).
- Go to Floor 2, paste, origin 0,0
- This give you the Floor 1 changes as you have already customized, then easily fixed the navigation without having to fuss with macros
I found this approach to be particularly useful when making a second level that looks down onto part of the first - no need to try to copy parts, just use the lower level and add onto it (or you could do it all in the same file with layers).
Thanks Amerigo :)
As with all things CC, there are always at least 3 different ways to do the same thing. Which one suits a person is probably down to the first method they learned. At least, that's always been the way for me.
Any other ideas on how to do the same thing would be interesting to read too.
Yep - I use Fantasy Grounds a my primary VTT and tell my players the same thing on that platform a well (full programs have multiple approaches available)
Soooo, when are we getting an official Darklands dungeon style? Was all excited when I saw the video - I have been waiting for a Darklands dungeon style after the overland/city styles.

Sorry, but I really couldn't say, Amerigo.
I’m wondering if DD4 will be similar enough to work as a Darklands Dungeon style?
I'm not sure. I didn't specifically design it to 'work with' anything in particular, but we might be lucky.
Working my way through the video, only about 1/3 through and already filled a page of notes. Question - will DD4 have the ability to render the final image in a HTML format that includes the hyperlinks and toggles?
I'm sorry, Glitch, I can't answer that question.
I do the artwork, not the tech stuff.
Maybe one of the others can say.
