I think either font is fine, HelenAA - the first is more decorative, the second more utilitarian, so it just depends on the look you're going for. Either way, the reduced drop shadow helps tremendously!
No. But you can switch it for a regular Wall Shadow, Directional with the "Draw as drop shadow" activated. You can change the colour on that effect.
I don't like drop shadows on text unless they are very subtle and quite close to the text. So I would probably go for something like this if I had no choice but to use one - black, with very low opactiy, and very close to the text.
The original font style was fine, I think, and the colour (to my eye anyway). The main problem was the strong drop-shadow.
If Sue's suggestion of a very small drop shadow doesn't work for you, you might want to think of removing the shadow effect altogether, and adding an outer glow to the title text instead, to make sure it still pops-out from the terrain sufficiently.
I like that font for this map, and the drop shadow is nicely balanced, imo — enough distance from the font to clearly be a drop shadow but not so far that it makes it difficult to read. Very nice map!

This is probably a really stupid question but is it possible to change the drop shadow’s colour? Not for this map, just out of curiosity

Here’s what i’m submitting, but i’ll play with the shadow effects in my next map.

That is much better to my eye as well! A very nice map!
thanks to everyone who has commented, it has made the completion of the map a lot easier than it may have otherwise been.
