I am a long time user of CC3 and various, but I have slowly moved away from the CC3 product to use only the symbols and bitmaps in Inkscape and Gimp. Not for any other reason than I am just sooo much more proficient in those tools. There is nothing I produce that I know CC3 cannot produce, its purely a laziness, comfortableness thing.

There's nothing wrong or lazy about using CC3 assets in an alternative app. I used to make a lot of hybrid CC3-GIMP maps myself before my time was swallowed up by asset creation. However, I draw the line at Inkscape, which I loathe with a passion! Personal preference, though ;)
