Current Version 3 update status

I was looking for a tentative schedule for full CC3 conversions of the the CC2 & CC Pro lines. I know that CD3 is in work, but is there any news (in one list you can actually look at and see a status) on the rest? The two biggie's for me are CD3 (in work) and Cosmographer 3.

Is it possible to get a list of products that show the tentative order and a guess on the month/year to release? Or just year. I understand that posting an actual schedule of specific date may be counter productive. But a tentative "plan" ie, CD3 in 08-09, Modern Symbol Set v3 in 09, Cosmographer 3 in 09-10, would be a great help for those of us that have extremely limited time for their hobbies.

If I look at the Pro Fantasy home page I see nothing to indicate that CD is even being updated at all.

I really like the new forum layout, and a locked sticky with a current release schedule would be icing on the cake.

Due to past issues with pre-announced release dates ("past issues" being defined as "missed targets"), I don't believe Profantasy is pre-announcing anything as far as dates go.

Estimating software development timelines is not a science.. take your best guess and +/- up to 9000% of the whole project timeline...... It's part of my job; the smallest seeming pieces take the longest, while the biggest hurdles are the fastest to get over it seems.

Announcing release dates just results in disappointment, never happiness.

I actually work in software support of a program that is in constant upgrade, so I understand the difference between a target date and reality.

I guess I forgot how people not in software would take it.

Doesn't hurt to ask though.

Our first task was to make sure that all add-ons work with CC3. This has happened. Then, we go through and update all the add-ons. DD3, SS1, SS2 are all done. Cosmographer art is underway. CD3 is being finished up, subject to programmer's availability. I'm not announcing any tentative release dates until I have a late beta copy working on my system. Then, I'll give three months' notice and open pre-orders.

Great. Thanks for the info. I already have CC3 and DD3 and have been tinkering using the symbols from CD2 and Cosmo. I mostly lean toward more modern time periods and have been waiting for the v3 updates for the more modern sets.

It is good to hear CD3 is in the final stretch and Cosmo is underway. I have been a casual user of CC since it was CC, and have always been pleased with it.

Any plans to update Symbol Set 3? Or can I use that in CC3/DD3 without any issue?

SS3 already got its compatibility update, meaning its vector art and drwaing tools were updated for CC3.

Ehm, Simon, I know you are quite busy preparing CD3 for release, but there are still two add-ons that do not work with CC3. And both SM: Castles! and SM: Temples, Tombs and Catacombs! would be handy for my upcoming campaign...
